This week, Hot Water 911 was honored to be asked by Jacy Elsesser, otherwise known as the Fix It Home Improvement guy to help out in one of his AMAZING videos. We sent one of our top technicians, Ed, to do the honors. After a couple of hours in hair and make up, Ed was ready to co-star in “Water Heater Gas Valve Replacement“! It’s been one of those notable Chicago winters alternating between huge snowstorms and bone chilling subzero temperatures with no breaks in between. Hot Water 911 technicians haven’t stopped to catch their collective breath since the beginning of the season. We shot pics of the early morning temps on four consecutive days as we waited for our vehicles to warm up.

Remember, back in the day?
Before high efficiency condensing water heaters, before sensors and automation…heck, before water heater repair was a specialty…my talented father-in-law captured the essence of Hot Water 911 in a simple but powerful cartoon. This meaningful poster (with some updated text) has been sitting in my office for years and years. Dad sadly has been gone for 10 years now but this special gift keeps his memory right in the forefront of each of my days.
So, in honor of Dad and the passing of time and simplicity, when water heaters were uncomplicated and thermal couplers were all you needed in your truck, here is the poster that spoke to our mission…
